The 2P pack might offer a higher current rating than the 1P pack. Pack are usually given a max discharge rating, something like 15C or 20C, where C is the capacity. So a 20C 5000mAH hour pack could offer a 100 amp maximum current where a 15C of the same capacity would be limited to 75 amps.
