[NSRCA-discussion] Electric newbee question...

Good point!
I am going slow and cautious. I actually have the proper crimp tools to work on these things but I would rather buy the appropriate adapters. I might find that I don't see that well anymore!
So far my electric experience has involved very little flying but a lot of studying...

Also be aware that you must ignore the color code and use a voltmeter to find the common (ground) lead.

  John,

Is the battery from Commonsense RC?

Depending on connectors, some of them has wires just soldered to the pins and each one of then can be carefully pull out of the connector. With a #11 blade tip, you can also pull the wires out of the balancer connectors on some of batteries

You should be able to find a balancer connector converter or can make them with one female that fits on the pack and one male that matches the charger/balancer you have.

I bought a heli (Align-Trex 450) from one fellow that uses 3S-2100 mah LiPo's and an airplane from another guy that uses the same batteries (ThunderPower).

The balance connectors are a little different in size but it appears to me that the wiring is exactly opposite between the two.

Is the common practice simply to fabricate/buy an adapter cable to charge them?
