IT is definitely your timing and switching that is causing the chatter. 
   
  Now i definitely recommend going to the 19X12 prop.  This is the identical setup i used on the Pentathlon weighing 10.2 lbs RTF.  I tried using a cut down 18X15 and performance was staggering until I let the magic smoke out of the motor!!!!!   Lasted about 4 flights.
