There are a few cyclers that can discharge Lipos and report the energy left....the Accuclyle elite and Triton are reasonably priced. I use a TP 535 charger and just monitor the charge time. It's an Ok way to check on the condition of the battery but you have to hang around the charger until the buzzer sounds. I have the old Accucycle for my NiCds, if I go Lipo I'll upgrade to the Elite.
   
  I'm still unclear about failure detection with Lipos. Good NiCds forcast their failure and can be dectected if you track the capacity of the packs. What do we do for Lipos? Obviously they are pretty reliable or they would not be as popular as they are.

It's been performing fine so far but my charger is not a fancy one that tells me how much is put back in after a day flying.  I don't fly electric but still would like to use a charger that is not just a blinky light.  These got me in trouble with NiCds and I learned my lesson there.  Sadly, for this experiment all I have is the Great Planes blinky light charger that I use for my foamies.  Any recommendations?

  Is anyone using the TP Voltage Regulators with Failsafe switch? They are available here in Canada (unlike most other things) and I would like to consider upgrading my ancient NiCD technology.
   
  Considering the 1400mAH 2S TP with the TP 5.1V regulator in a 170 powered Integral. I am using an ARA170 mount...if that changes the assesment.
   
  Any comments? 
   
  Any reliability issues I may have missed ?
