[NSRCA-discussion] YS 1.20 and YS 1.40 measurements: fromthefirewall forward...

Troy,

Thanks for the pointer to the YS site, I appreciate it.

I am not looking for a single exact number as the combinations can be very
large. What I am looking for are the numbers that are in use on airplanes
today so that I can get a range of values and ensure what I draw allows for
those variations. So my questions can be further refined as:

1.	Using a Hyde Mount (specify which model) and a YS 140 (specify which
model) what is the distance from the firewall side of the Hyde mount to the
back of the spinner in your installation?
2.	Using a Hyde Mount (specify which model) and a YS 120 (specify which
model) what is the distance from the firewall side of the Hyde mount to the
back of the spinner in your installation?

I also recognize that there are some Hyde Mounts which allow you to adjust
the position of the engine on the rails to match the cowl. By getting the
measurements of existing installations I can get the general ranges and can
adjust the drawings to allow these combinations to fit if I need to.

Take care,

John

The dimensions will vary depending on the Hyde Mount used and the generation
of Hyde Mount used. One built 2-3 years ago will be different than one built
today....There is no number for this that will be exact...

The AR mounts tend to generally be thicker isolators than the ARA mounts.
And so on.....there are big variables that could differ more than 1/2-3/4"
depending on what mount is being used.

The 120 and 140 are the same dimensions for mounting purposes For these dims
go to

www.yspartsandservice.com

Pick the 140Sport and you'll get the manual....for that matter you could use
the 160DZ or 170DZ too they are the same basic dimensions also.

Hi all,

I'm looking for a couple of measurements for some drawings I'm doing. Can
anyone send me the following measurements?

3.	Using a Hyde Mount and a YS 140 (specify which model) the distance
from the firewall side of the Hyde mount to the back of the spinner?
4.	Using a Hyde Mount and a YS 120 (specify which model) the distance
from the firewall side of the Hyde mount to the back of the spinner?

Thanks in advance.

John
