You are correct Pilots know who there competition is and its great when
there is a change in that winning order.

However with a large flying class it would be nice to reward the flying of
the day.
Most do not agree with me no problem at all.

Looks like we are back to where we started.
. Competition at its best

It does not matter if we find that same pilot winning first most of the time?

I did here complaints on that? Move up! My feelings are if they do not
feel they are ready
Fly learn and enjoy.

Lets just leave it that flying the best sequence will win first second and
third

We do hope the pilots do not move back to collect the awards in the lower
class?
They would be bored and end of leaving pattern.

OK looks like everyone is happy. No extra awards

Expert Class... Do not think that is the answer for CD's Contest or
Pilots
I would leave things as they are a bit longer.

I'm just glad to be of service!!

The way I see it, by the time you make it to Masters / FAI level you are now
enrolled in what I like to refer to as the "Big Boy Program". You pretty much
know where you shake out in the pecking order and have known for quite some
time what your internal motivations are to shell out the bucks to play the game
year after year. . . I don't think adding a few more trophies or awards is
going to change much in either keeping people in or making them leave.

Maybe you guys should take a cue from school sports and either 1) Not keep
score at all or 2) Give everyone a First Place ribbon for participating. Either
option would sure help out the judging dilemma!!

No thanks from this old masters flyer!
I don't want a trophy for finishing 5'th, nor do I want a trophy for being
old!

something to think about."
A variation on this is to add additional awards by age category like at this
year's NATS i.e. highest placing JR, SR, etc. by class at local meets.

It would be best for the masters pilot who is at the bottom of the pack to
STAY in Masters.. Moving back will not help that pilot advance.

Moving back to a lower class

.We have that situation covered for a pilot that has been out of flying and
wants to get back into it but not for one who just wants to win in a lower
class. Win but win with the BEST you can do..

IF they flew and advanced they should continue on that path

Masters group- CDs should add an extra award.. Fourth and Fifth place.

something to think about.

.

Boredom in a lower class --------- we will lose that pilot

Marguerite

Its nice we have a problem with TO MANY pilots in Masters. A sign something
is working here.

I would like to see the guys that are stuck at the bottom of their respective
classes have an easier time going back a class. The main reason we have so
many

Masters flyers is we advanced guys thru the system before they were ready to
compete due to a lack of competition. It's sad to see guys hit a brick wall
and end up quiting the sport due to frustration.

I like the idea that I can fly Fai or Masters based on my own volition. In
the midwest we always have large fields in Masters and it's pretty hard to beat
the field.
