Ed, I've used a garage-sale crock pot filled with anti-freeze to remove
baked on crud like that. Run it on low and soak the parts overnight, and
the crud will be gone.

Subject: [NSRCA-discussion] Removing crud from exhaust headers

Is there a chemical that can be purchased that will remove the baked on crud
on glow engines and aluminum exhaust headers? I used something once that
was available in a hobby shop and it worked, but it was expensive stuff.

Thanks
Ed
