What we need is the Red Bull TV team complete with the puter generated ribbons then we can judge correctly!
 
I figure Entry fee will be about 50k per contest assuming 30 pilots. :)

Good point - although computer imposing the box on the screen as well as
maneuver overlays and such might dress it up.  The technical aspects,
behind the scenes and in the pits drama might be a draw too.  Indoor F3P
is also very interesting to non-RC folks and the perception that the
equipment and flying spaces are more accessible might inspire more
interest as well.  Lots of facets to R/C sports in general and they all
can serve to promote interest.  IMAC, pylon, heli's, combat...

I wonder if the AMA has considered carving out a presence on Youtube for
quality sport promoting videos?  Eyeball stats there would go a long
way towards convincing ESPN and the like that modeling is worth
televising as well as providing built-in focus group feedback on what
people want to see.
