[NSRCA-discussion] Are the high gas prices going to change your contest plans?

Ron, I couldn't agree more. I've been car pooling for the last few years. It
works out great. Someone to talk with and share in the expenses. Everything
is cut in half. Wow, I only pay for 1/2 the gas to a contest...

Now on the other hand I'm always too tired to drive there or back. I get the
one I car pool with to drive. Don't tell anyone though, cause' I may get
stuck driving if the gig is up.

You and I, we are very different in one regard. I can't wait to get back to
the hotel room with my car pooling buddy. I don't do the Scotch, but may
have a few Bud Lights. Watching TV, wow...No time for that got to relieve
some stress. Turn out the light and then get turned on...

Now that's what I call a contest. I'll make everyone I can go to if I get to
car pool. And you can bet that I won't be going alone.

Ok...OK...So my carpooling buddy is my wife, not fair I know...But just ask
about the Red Bow...Now when she calls for me, she just may have that Red
Bow on...I need every advantage I can get... ;^))

Going to contests by yourself sucks. I've been lucky in that I've
been able to share travel/lodging expenses on most of my contests.
The occasional solo journey to a contest is a bummer from every
aspect. Traveling alone is difficult, even though I usually drive
all the way and back, but having someone to talk with is a big plus.
Staying in a motel room and going out to eat solo is a big turnoff.
Watching TV and sipping Scotch alone in a motel room just doesn't
hack it. I have decided that I just won't go to a contest if it
means I have to go alone. The cost of gas just blurs in the total
expense for a contest. A week or so after a contest, I can't tell
you how much I spent on gas.
