Divining for water pipes and electrical is impressive when you see a person
do it well. Try it yourself on a known source but don't let the operator
know where it is - you will be surprised.

That said, I can remember a time when we were trying to avoid cutting a
communication cable buried under some asphalt. The diviner carefully mapped
out the path, moved four feet to the left, and said "cut here". Took two
weeks to spice the cable....

Divining works very well Ron.  I know how crazy it sounds, but the coat 
hangar trick does work. I usually use 2, one in each hand, held loosely. As 
you walk over the pipe, they will cross over each other.
