[NSRCA-discussion] Method of mounting wheel pants

Wow, you guys must fly from pavement! If I don't support the pants at both ends of the axle they will never last and at $50 a pair they are not something I can call disposable.
 Picture something like the link below but the outer piece is larger and glued to the outside of the pant to capture the end of the axle. This greatly reduces  pant flex and prevents cracking.

I'm looking for a light, reliable method to mount wheels and wheel pants on carbon fiber landing gear legs. Any suggestions?
