[NSRCA-discussion] Method of mounting wheel pants

John,

If you go with the NMP axels (and the wheel pant installation allows it),
glue a small piece of something to the landing gear leg that will touch one
of the hex "flats" on the axel (especially on the left axel!) This will
prevent the axel from being able to spin and loosen itself from the bolt.
Been there, done that.locktite alone didn't hold it.

Another thought is to apply some polyurethane glue to the face of the hex,
install and let the poly expand around the hex giving you a nice
anti-rotation lock.

Scott

Try these NMP axels (http://www.centralhobbies.com/landing_gear/Axles.html),
they're light, hold the wheel pant on and are simple to install.

I'm looking for a light, reliable method to mount wheels and wheel pants on
carbon fiber landing gear legs. Any suggestions?
