[NSRCA-discussion] TP 1010C & Extreme pack(s) feedback needed

Incheol,

I have tried the 1010 - 210 TP combination and I am one of the few people who seem to NOT like it! Charging 5300 Prolite packs I had frequent "wrong cell count" errors, shut down for no reason and all manner of beeping, blinking and "activity" from the balancers. Often, after getting an error, simply disconnecting and restarting the process would result in no errors, but occasionally the "fatal error" would persist requiring me to bypass the damn balancers to get the cells charged. I went so far as to buy a second set of balancers thinking the I might have a bad "batch" but they all work or didn't work the same. After a "successfull" charge through the "balancers" I could put my battery on the balancer passively and it would continue to beep blink and so- on for a while. As far as I could tell they were never balanced.

I finally sold the TP 's and am now using TME Extrema's with the V-balancer modules from Duralite. The V-balancers are GREAT. They do all the things that the TP 210 's are supposed to do, but they actually work. I'm using these with the same old TP 5300 prolites, so it isn't that I had a bunch of bad batteries.

I'm anxious to see what TME comes up with for their integrated balancer which is in Beta testing now and supposed to be in production this fall.

I'm clearly in the minority here, but I thought the TP products were overhyped, under documented and functioned poorly.
