We also know all about pumping stations not having power... only we were trying to get rid of it, and you guys need it... Really wouldn't have mattered with a flood that big anyways...

  Thanks Matt,

Luck is on my side though, as I am only working here for a couple of months. I normally hail from Washington State. The fire is a ways from town and the smoke for the most part is being blown to the south of us. The real bummer Is the folks who are losing their homes because of the rage this fire has shown. Some homes just burn because there are not enough resources to battle them. Some of the pump stations providing water to the outlying areas are without power. No power, no water. Well Fema is here, you all know how well, and swiftly they provide.

Dennis, being from Southeast Louisiana, we definitely feel your pain down here. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all during this time.

I have seen some show up to a pattern contest in cars small enough to fit in the trunk of my Harley with their gear. I choose the full size 8ft. box pickup with canopy, which leaves room for a friend and his gear. On a non-flying day, you can actually carry something in the back like two tons of pellets.

This message all the way from San Diego where the wild fires are looming. (safe in my motel)

    FYI - You can fit:

    3 2-meter airplanes

    2 foamies

    3 adults

    2 transmitters

    1 flight box

    1 tool box

    1 case of fuel

    1 10x10 canopy tent

    2 chairs

    2 suitcases

    1 cooler

    and

    1 12-pack of Bass Ale

in a Grand Caravan with Stow-N-Go. AND you'll still get about 24 Mpg on the highway. Now for the bad part: you'll have to deal with the "Soccer mom" jokes from your flying buddies... <LOL>
