[NSRCA-discussion] D3 Championship

No, not "Supposed to be"....IS FUN.

The plight isn't so much flying against others...someone said that one is flying against his or her own personal best. I couldn't agree more.

However, a fellow burns gallons by the case and gets very good at his craft. Some expectation comes with that kind of commitment...that is, to get a Just Reward for his effort. When the Just Reward is perceived as not coming, then he could get (fill in your blank of your own reaction).

The perception of Just Reward isn't new nor is it likely to ever go away in this sport. The problem is that Just Reward is, to a degree, beyond the control of the pilot... ours is a judged event after all, by panels of our peers.

Personally, I feel that it took a heck of a lot of guts to say what Jim said.... I took a step back and took inventory of my judging and scoring habits. I think that the challenge is for every one else who judges the FAI F3A events (actually, any events) to do the same.

Don put together a fine brief summary of the major stuff we as judges look for. We can all do each other a great service to study it and apply it without bias.

regards all,

Matt K

Oopsie. Guess that was supposed to go off list. Don't worry - no big deal. I think you owe Jim some beer though! He was just trying to be funny. :)

See you guys at Tangerine in a few weeks. Remember, toy airplanes are supposed to be FUN!!!

Guys,

I had a moment of stupidity. I ask that everyone please ignore what I just wrote, and if you can forgive me, I would appreciate it.

I regret saying that, and to Jim, I apologize personally for that.

Jim,

May I ask what in the hell the need for the definition was? Apparently you don’t seem content with insulting people in your own district, you feel the need to insult everyone’s intelligence on here.

I’m sorry you didn’t beat Jason this weekend, but that attitude has got to go, chief.

It is my opinion that abject failure to score FAI rounds and standings accurately has been consistently occurring in District 3, punctuated by the final two contests of 2007 (JAX and D3 Champs).  Recognizing these inequities in FAI, I look forward to joining the Masters class for the 2008 season beginning with the Tangerine.

Copied from www.dictionary.com   Abject:

–adjective

1.

utterly hopeless, miserable, humiliating, or wretched: abject poverty.

2.

contemptible; despicable; base-spirited: an abject coward.

3.

shamelessly servile; slavish.

4.

Obsolete. cast aside.

Thank You,

Jim W.
