Thanks Billy, Peter, Brian, Rufus, Jim H., and the rest of the JAX gang
for holding a great contest. Billy always goes the extra mile for
prizes and raffles and everyone really appreciates it. The club helps a
lot with the cook stand and such. The weather was so bad with high
winds and gusts that we really could have held a nationals!:) Chairs
would blow over, the judges tents needed to come down for safely. It
was quartering in and the contestants in general handled it very well.

It was nice to see the classes in a tight race where every round
counted. Advanced, Masters, and FAI all had multiple round winners.
I'm definitely looking forward to the D3 champs contest, and well as
going back to JAX for the South East IMAC regional's in November.

Thanks,
Jim W.

Hi All,

Just back from the Jacksonville contest. 25 pilots braved the wind
(10-15
Saturday and 5-25 today) and sun ;) this weekend to enjoy pattern
together.
The field claimed 2 Black Magic's (before the contest), a Black Magic
and
Era landing gear mount and a few props, but everyone handled the wind
really
well. Billy Meadows and the Gateway RC crew put on another fantastic,
prize
filled contest despite the forecast for heavy winds that scared a few
away.
