 You'll find that the expanding foam isn't all that light, and getting
the right amount is nearly impossible.  Depending on what you're doing,
it's usually easier, stronger, and lighter to frame things in with
Balsa.

I had moderate success with that method.  It is an art form by itself!
Too much foam and it makes a real mess of things.  I had problems with
the foam expanding into the core under the remaining balsa and causing a
slight bulge.
