You can get an Rx insert for them and then can have the same frames and multiple tints and colors, polarized or unpolarized.  For my tired old eyes the answer to your question is no, one tint isn't enough.  Bright sunlight vs overcast, having 2 or 3 tints makes a big difference.

I've flown with these glasses with exactly the same tint the only difference is polarized vs unpolarized.  I can't tell much of a difference when flying.  I can tell the difference with everything else and much prefer polarized.  Polarized helps when light reflects off a surface, like the ground.  Looking up at the sky, it doesn't help because the light hasn't been reflected and has random polarization.

But like Nat said, forget about reading your transmitter LCD screen with polarized glasses, at least the 9Z.
