Time and safety.  It takes more time to safely get the airplane to  
the takeoff initiation point and it is safer for the airplane to be  
carried than taxied over uneven ground/pavement and safer for the  
airplane to be moved away from the runway by the caller in case an  
airplane is landing on the runway.
