Take your favorite sport airplane that is ready to fly and under 11 lbs... 
fly one contest at Sportsman level.

Gets you out to a contest... and lets you fly in it.

10 years out of the loop... no one will argue with you doing that to get 
back into Pattern.

Takes a little pressure off too.  Rush jobs on fixing the plane tend to have 
errors.
