[NSRCA-discussion] Flight Power EVO Lite

Derek: I've had great luck with the TP5300 packs and I'm sure the Flight Power F3A packs are equally as good; however, the advertisement in the K-Factor is for the F3A packs. I purchased the new green label 5350 EVO Lite packs....again, advertised at 17.6 oz on the Tower Hobbies website. I wrote a note to Flight Power asking what the difference might be between the F3A (gold in color) and the EVO Lite (green in color). Both are rated exactly the same. I never got an answer.

There is more to the packs than just the weight. I'm surprised that Tower advertises them at 500g each since the K-Factor ad states 575g each. My combined weight including connectors is 1190g. I think you'll find that you'll get more usage out of the packs and they'll be stronger than your TP packs for a longer period.

Just received two Flight Power 5S 5350 EVO Lite packs based upon a Tower Hobbies advertised weight of 500 grams (17.6 oz) each. On my digital scale, the two EVO Lite 5S packs, without connectors, weigh 41.7 ounces compared to my Thunderpower 5300 packs (with Dean's Ultra connectors and 1/4" balsa strips glued between them for air flow) which weigh 39.8 oz. If you're flying electric, and are looking for weight savings to make competition weight, EVO Lite packs are not the answer.
