[NSRCA-discussion] Strange looking plane from Patrick Lemonnier

Dean

I have only heard rumor of such anhedral design and seen pictures...I am
much too young to have experienced those planes. But the answer is yes!
It not that the canard type thingy exists, but what I want to know is why
anyone would want to carry two more servos, and how those thingys , at the
position they are at would be programmed...into what function? two servos
means opposite twists...WTF is that for? If its a mix looks like a pain to
me, especially since it would seem that the ailerons would do the same
thing but more efficiently. They are not canards. By the way.....everyone
needs to look up the definition of canard. Most dictionaries do not list
it as an aerodynamic control device....(to half sell a duck-which is more
confusing to me).

Someone please explain to me the purpose of the rear canopy "half sold
ducks"....wait a minute...I know the purpose! It is to get schmoes like us
talking about it! Darn, fell for that French trick again!

Gray ... You mean like the anhedralled stab back in the seventies! Right?

To me it is all shock value. Once it hits the streets everyone will know
that you cannot win without it...as long as you are e-powered.

Now that is funny!
Why, you ask? Because just yesterday I was on the phone with Matt K. and
said to him that the vertical part of the flow straightener (translation
for canaliser) was not really necessary. I said that the basic purpose is
to make the airflow track down the length of the tailcone, rather than
spilling around the top, as the plane is yawed. That improves both
pitching behavior and knife edge power. When I get the needed weather, I
will hang a little straightener on the Funtana to see what happens to its
strong push to the belly in K.E. What about chine strips? I'll have to try
that, as they could be less ugly, and even add structural stiffness.

The lastest incarnation of PL Products has a very strange plane called the
Axial. Take a look. This makes the t-canalizer look good by comparison.
