Actually I-10 west, HARKS (Houston Area Radio Kontrol Society) - the club /
field's still there. Originally formed as a pattern club (by-laws required
at least one pattern contest a year), 24 members (of 40) flew pattern at the
Sequin Nats. Local contests featured Haufbrau steaks for dinner. The
economic downturn of the '80's dispersed many of the pattern folks in
Houston and interest waned for a while - the club now focuses on big gassers
and no competition.
