You had said something earlier about some upgrade for the14mz.  When did 
this become available.  Is it an easy fix?

ps I need a non switch regulator. could you mail one?  Also, I can't get my 
sim9aeroflypro to work with my 9z.  Do you need to fix something?  I have 
sent the sim to the company and they say it is fine.Thanks

    Hi Tony,

    Does the throttle channel use the same encoder? If so, then it must be 
some sort of absolute encoder.

      The futaba 14MZ flyer I have says "Gimbals with long-life 
potentiometer, quad bearings, adjustable tension and detent."

      In general encoders are not absolute positioning devices and you need 
to define "home". Resolvers are absolute positioning devices but larger and 
more costly.

      Hah, I didn't even think about the stick pots. Seems that would be the 
first place they would try using shaft encoders.



      Linear outputs from the servos would be great, also. Oh, wait a 
minute, that was done 35 years ago with the KPS-11 servos. Nevermind....

          When you say analog, I assume you are talking about the feedback 
loop? I wonder how long it will be until we get shaft encoders in our 
servos. Or, for that matter, the shaft encoder could be mounted to the 
control surface itself.
