I think you're right to raise this issue. If the AMA has not been allowed
to test it, I would not allow that radio in any way to be used during the
pattern contest.
Assuming it hasn't been tested, then I think you should advertise that only
'certified/tested' radios can be used. It would not be out of line to state
that only radios certified for use with large aircraft will be
allowed---i.e., no park flyer radios, such as the DX-6.
