[NSRCA-discussion] Tires

One thing that works well for me is to glue (ca) a narrow strip of bicycle inner tube over the soft foam. It adds a couple grams to a light tire but it's worth the added weight. Sponge rubber is supported circumferentially by the firm rubber stock. A set of wheels will last many seasons after such treatment even if you take off of pavement. Temptress is still on her first set of wheels after some 700 flights, the first 500 or so off pavement. After 4 seasons, these are being overhauled along with Temptress. FWIW

Subject: [NSRCA-discussion] Tires

Anyone know any 2.5" tires that will hold up to the airplane sitting on the gear for long periods of time? The Dave Brown's look lik a flat tire after? the airplane sits on the bench for a week or so. I don't really want the plane sitting on the fuse in a cradle for any length of time. I'd rather replace the wheels a few times a year than warp the fuse or belly pan.
