I sure concur Matt.. I would have no reason to re-enter pattern if it were to change.. Will already be hard enough with out dated equipment I currently have.

I disagree with preparation for international competition. I fly AMA pattern and have no ambition to ever compete internationally. I'm happy the AMA pattern has maintained some distinct differences in rules than FAI. Would I be proud if the USA wins a team gold or an individual gold at the worlds in Argentina this year? You're darn tootin', but that's a completely separate type and level of competition, and I prefer that the AMA maintains a distinct identity in its rules and sequences.

Fred has the right idea here. Is there anyone on this list that would argue with these two goals?

Promotion of Pattern as a competitive event

Preparation of pilots for international competition.

      In a nutshell...
Build the team for the F3A World championship.

You can't have a teem without competitors... so we have to attract people to participate.

You can't prepare the team for the international event if you don't work to teach the rules of... and skills needed for... the event.
