  That is a VERY important point. We can talk about judging while looking at the maneuvers from the end of the box, or even about putting a GPS transmitter in the plane, but that would not be fair to the pilot. We should not try to judge the pilot from a perspective from which the pilot can't see. IOW, the judges should see what the pilot sees.
   
  In control-line, it is different since the pilot is always at the EXACT position needed to see perfect geometry. The judges will just have to live with that. :-)

Thus the maneuvers are distorted from the judges’ perspective AND also from the pilots’ perspective.
