Reminds me of the first time I used Monokote. I was attempting to cover a Goldberg Li'l Jumpin Bean. My Mom's iron was almost as big as the plane!!!
   
  IIRC, the instructions said to set the iron for "permanent press". :-)
   
  Back then (1969??) the Monokote instructions actually showed a regular iron.
   
  Solarfilm was a lot easier to use, but did not add much stiffness to a wing.

I was around then. Didn't invent It though. I did get chewed out for using
my wife's iron to apply Mono-Cote and Cover All.
