I've moved away from the GP hinge machine as I find it cuts the slots too big. I've found that I can easily do it just using a #11 blade.

Once covered,  I use the jig again to cut away the covering (that's why it's two sided with the second side a little deeper)  I use the GP hinge machine to cut the initial slot then finish it with a #11 blade.
