You are using a Mejslic 19-10 Prop on a Y.S. 1.40? Bill Glaze

A little FYI for any one interested in trying the Mejlik 19x10 prop. The hole size is bored for a gasser and it needs a bushing that is hard to find. I found that cutting off about 3/8 inch of the top end of a fine tip Sharpie worked perfect.
You will also have to make the slots in your spinner larger then what an APC calls for. Again I think this would be the perfect prop for the larger engines and so far is working good on my OS 1.40.

If anyone is interested I have a new Mintor c.fiber pipe for sale... $80 shipped in the states.

        Wayne,

If you would have added how "quiet" that prop is too, you would have let a major technical secret out to the masses!!! Plus, the prop acts like a speed controller - gone is the rubber-band'sh throttling of either accelerating or decelerating. The only comparative prop is one of the DL 3 B jobs. J

        Jim,

I got the prop this past week and tried it out this weekend. It doesn't turn the rpms at top end but it sure pulled nice. It is about one ounce lighter then Lockharts three blade version. Very good speed control. One thing I noticed is that it didn't have the P-factor that my smaller props had. I had a throttle to rudder mix setup like Chip uses and I found myself having to turn it off. Perhaps the larger props slip stream had a good effect. On the Aeroslave pipe it would haul just fine. It just wasn't as fast or didn't have that zoominess you get with a smaller prop as it comes on the pipe. I think most setups are over pitched for the newer pattern schedules.

I noticed the sleeve is a little over sized for the shaft and I will have to address that as I had a little vibration and more noticable at slower rpms. I am sure this would be an ideal prop for the 1.60 to 1.70 size motors. I will have to try it in a little wind to see if its going to work or not.

        Later

        Wayne

          Hi All,

I have a 3 flight used Mejzlik 19x10 for sale, $40 with shipping (US priority mail). I loved the way the 18x10 Mejzlik flew, so I thought the 19x10 would be even better, but it is just a tad too much load for the OS 140 RX. My opinion is that this would be an AWESOME prop for beasts like the OS 160, Mintor 170, or Webra 160. On a calm day with the OS140, it gave a very similar presentation to the Electric setups - instant brakes, parachute like downlines, tractor pull going up. Please email off line if interested.

          Thanks,

          Jim W.
