[NSRCA-discussion] Hysol 9462

I had to clean off the adhesive. It didn't set after 2 days. A pain but
doable with lacquer thinner. I hand mixed some epoxy from a new cartridge
and remounted the nose ring. It set fine this time and was hard when I
returned home from work. Now was the original problem due to inadequate
mixing in the nozzle (long one) or just a bad tube? I did make sure that
the epoxy was coming out evenly before trying a second mix with a nozzle.
This also didn't harden. I now have a hand mixed sample from the first
cartridge sitting to see if it was the cartridge or the mixing nozzle.
Has anyone experienced mixing problems when using the nozzle?
Thanks
Stuart

Hi Stuart.
Good to see you back in the pattern game. Not sure what the problem
is. I used some last night and it was fine by this morning and my
basement is probably cooler than 70 degrees. Mine was not fully set
since that takes maybe 24hrs but certainly not anywhere near soft or
weak enough to move the parts around. The only thing that I have
noticed is that a new cartridge will shoot out the sides unevenly until
the material is "even" inside the cartridge. Last night I had maybe 2"
of one side come out before the other (white) side started coming out.
I don't use the nozzles so I could see that it was not even.
I would scrape off and try again.

Chris
