[NSRCA-discussion] Lipo Stuff...

I am not sponsored by anyone other than Mrs K. nor have I ever been in my long pattern career. I suppose "sponsors" didn't think I was going anywhere so they obliged, and you know what? They were right. I am a lifer.

I have had great (read--free for broken Webras) support from Horizon but paid through the nose for service at YS Performance.

Bob Obbenberger of Tru Turn did give me a free aluminum safety prop nut at the most recent WRAMs show for my small E-pattern design.

I have to strongly disagree... I have never received warranty support from any manufacturer in all my years of modeling. I guess I don't live right.. and a big reason why now gun shy about new technology that is hidden in cloak and dagger sponsorship that isn't upfront and truthful about the pitfalls. The biggest downside to sponsorship IMHO.

In my limited time devoted to learn the electric power plant of today, it has appeared to me that many 1st time burners of packs and often controllers have been allowed considerable discounts on the next set. Such has been the learning curve and the manufacturers have, in general, supported it. That essentially results in an effective warranty eventhough it isn't expressed as such in the literature included in your purchase.

The effect is not that dissimilar to wet powerplants like YS, Webra and OS. It seems to me we have had support from them also when we fubar'd things within the warranty period. And some (Horizon) has even given support free, even when it wasn't warranted. I know first hand

MattK

Dave and anyone wearing asbestos underwear,

"I'd be happy to entertain questions and provide further
brainwashing.......with the preface my answer
might be "I dunno....." <G>"

Here's one for you: - Why have so many sponsored or subsidized "electric"
fliers kept so quiet about their exploding packs, burnt out controllers,
failed electric motors and even failed motor mounts? Is it brand loyalty,
or fear that the facts would scare us off, or what?

Regards,

Eric.
