Hi Ron,
We all hope you are doing better.
There are two kinds of folks when it comes to desciptions of treatment:
those who are grossed out, and those who need more detail.
By and large, real modellers fall into the latter category.

take it easy,
    Dean

I had lazer surgery in early Jan. of this year to repair a similiar problem in my right eye. Lots of floaters brought the problem to my attention. About 90 % better after 10 weeks. Hope your recovery is quick and complete.

Thanks. It was pretty weird stuff they did: evacuated the fluid from the eye, pushed the pieces from the macular hole up against the back of my eye and filled the eye with inert gas to hold the macula pieces there while it healed (shall I stop now?). The eye has refilled itself about 3/4 with fluid so far. I have a meniscus between the fluid and gas that I can see and it's strange to watch it slosh as I move my head (OK, I'll stop). Recovery from the surgery is supposed to take six to eight weeks. I can't say that I'm thrilled with the result, almost five weeks after the surgery. I may need to go through the surgery again.

In the meantime, I will try to fly a foamy this week, after watching John Fuqua flying his new Impact today. I think I could see his airplane well enough with my good eye to fly it.

Any news from the Ocala FL contest ?

The only news I have is from Don Lowe, who called and ragged me about not being there. He was competing in his first Pattern contest in "forever" (his words). He said that he was pleased that he hadn't crashed, but I! got no news on how the contest was going.

I explained that I hadn't recuperated yet from recent surgery to repair a hole in the macula of my right eye.
