I don't want to start up another maudlin nostalgia thread, but I  
remember when Jim Oddino published the technique for installing dual  
rates in a transmitters in his R/C Modeler column.  Yes, kiddies,  
there were times when even the top-of-the-line transmitters didn't  
have dual rate switches.  I'm no electronic genius, but I bought the  
parts and did the installation of dual rate elevator and aileron  
switches in a Kraft KP-7Z transmitter.  They worked great and I can  
still remember the amazed eyes of my club members when I demonstrated  
how they worked.
