I do not really know. Grass always reduces but matters less with the 
higher up from exhaust stacks. Prop noise on the ground contributes 
significantly, and is far less reduced by grass. We have a 22" limit on 
props and regardless of size no supersonic noise. I think 22" at 6000rpm 
is an upper limit.

Sorry, I should have done a better job asking my question...How do these 
standards over hard surface translate to grass for large IMAC type planes. 
 
Pattern planes aren't the issue at our club, but the larger gas sport 
planes.  Also what was the max prop size and did you relate it to max RPM?
