Directions
The Field is located along River Road in the National Park area, North of Shawnee on the Delaware River, just under 1 mile North of Smithfield Beach. The field is easily visible on the right side of River Road Northbound
Coming from the West:
>From Route 80 heading East, take the Marshalls Creek Exit (Exit 52) North onto route 209. Go about 1.1 miles and take a right at the sign for Shawnee. Take this road until it ends at River Road and go left on River Road (North) 4.7 miles
Coming from the East:
>From Route 80 heading West, take the 1st Exit immediately after the tolls (right after crossing the Delaware Water Gap) and after the 1st underpass. Be in the right lane exiting the toll plaza! From the exit ramp you will cross a divided highway with a stop in the median area, after which you will be on River Rd. headed North. This takes you through an underpass and across a set of tracks shortly afterwards. Continue North on River Road about 6 miles.

The field is open from 10:00 onwards for practice flying on Friday. Registration from 8:00 to 9:30 Saturday. PIlots meeting at 9:30. Flying starts at 10:00. Award plaques 1st through 3rd place for each class after we wrap up on Sunday. Contest entry fee is $35, which includes pilot BBQ (dog or burger, chips & drink) lunch Sat and Sun.
The informal "Mini e-Pattern" event is Saturday late afternoon/early evening after the regular contest rounds are completed. No regular contest rounds will be sacrificed for this! This is a fun, after hours thing when we're done dueling with the big stuff. No additional entry fee if you are registered for the Pattern contest. We invented two classes for this, Novice and Expert. Novice is non-turnaround style, about 7 or 8 figures that you will see for the first time that day. Expert will be turnaround style, something in the 10 to 12 figure range and you will also see the sequence for the first time that day. Rules - has to be electric, one prop, fixed wing, 2200 mAh 3 cell LiPo limit. You are welcome to try another battery chemistry that is rated similarly, if you dare. There is one nice little engraved wood plaque for the winner in each of these e-Pattern events, just for fun.
It's looking like a really good turn out again. Pre-registrations still welcome.
See you there!
