Could there be confusion here over this airplane? Alan listed it as a Bossa Nova, which was a .60 size pattern plane from a few years ago.
The Balsa Nova is entirely different.

That's what Roy Medina was flying in Connecticut Last week. A 40 size BN with an OS 46 FX. I have flown that particular aircraft and can tell you that it's not an easy plane to fly due to the fact that it is extremely over-powered. He has a Performance Specialties sleeve in it and a Nelson Hi-Thrust muffler and this little machine is turning an 11X7 APC at 13,500 RPM and the responce is so dramatic that it is difficult to adjust to all that grunt !!!!!!!!! It really requires judicious use of the throttle in a way that you are totally unfamiliar with. I tried to get him to program a mode switch with a throttle curve and a dual rate cut-off to make it more manageable, but have been unsuccessful thus far.

One of the best flying planes I have ever owned was a 40 size Balsa Nova. I have a 120 kit, but have never gotten it built.

I have a YS120AC powered Balsa Nova 120 ARF at 10lbs 11oz that is a great flying plane for the lower classes, except for it's 80" wing. It's amazing how well it flies for such a simple machine.

A Sprtsman pilot won with the 60 sized BN last week in CT. Flies adequately in the right hands

Alan you are giving someone a deal and half

I have a Pattern plane that is about 90% constructed. It includes and engine and header and maybe even retracts and a tuned pipe. I might even have a retract servo too.
Please don't laugh, but it is a 60 sized Bossa Nova. It is an all balsa fuselage with foam sheeted wings. It will likely come in at around 7 pounds when finished.
If anyone is interested in finishing this airplane they can have it with the above mentioned hardware. The only thing I would like from this is the opportunity to fly it once......sentimental reasons.
If anyone is interested or you want more info, or if you know someone who might be interested, please contact me off list at alan at countryworkshop.ca
