[NSRCA-discussion] OS exhaust

Hi Guy's, Our Vivat's are also mounted in the center of the pipe. We just
clamp a little aluminum mount on a lord mount and fish it in from the front.
Sounds hard but it's not that bad. In 2 years with mine I have never broke
a header or pipe. Ron Lawrence

Not if you have a dremel tool. <VBG>
I mount mine much the same as noted below.
And yea, my Vivat has a 2 by 3 inch double Immelmann shaped hole
to access the O ring and lord mount.
Bottom of plane is black, hole is not noticeable in flight.

But with designs like the Brio and Vivat, aren't you limited to the inlet
and/or stinger? Access to the mid-pipe area is a problem on this type of
airplane.

The only thing I could add to Nat's statement is that in my exhaust
set-up the pipe is also soft mounted on a single Lord mount. Same location
as Nat. Been doing that for at least the last 10 years and have never had a
failure in any exhaust component in a 2 stroke powerplant. Really don't
remember the last time a coupler blew either, but then again I don't fly as
much as many do.

Anthony
With soft mounted engines I have never had a header failure with a single
pipe support placed about 1/2 to 1 inch behind the CG of the pipe/coupler.
