It is always best to have a first name.

In the address Book when you click on new entry it should prompt you to
select a Entry type, Contact or Distribution group. If you have a difficult
time finding it click on help and type in Distribution list and it will show
you how.

It is also good to have two contacts one named AAA AAAA and ZZZ ZZZZ for the
first and last names, add no e-mail address and if a worm or virus did get
to you and try to use the address book it will stop trying to send due to an
invalid e-mail address.
