[NSRCA-discussion] What the NSRCA does (and could do) for me

that's ok I get what you were saying.
I'm certainly open to suggestions, and I'm sure Derek is listening intently. I have no "authority" to do anything, I just try to pull all of the content together and make it coherent. Beyond that I have absolutely no say, and am pretty sure I don't want any =)
At any rate, I'm all eyes and ears......

Ditto Jim. You are correct. What Mike did in D3 is now famous and inspirational. Other efforts of that magnitude are an option, but they cost some money. Not an outrageous amount, but it would be a different allocation of our limited funds.
Just guessing here, but a pattern plane award for each district might cost about $4800 total. Cost for the KF (avg.) $2800/month. Please don't read into this. My point is that we have cashflow and are not stuck between a rock and a hard place. We simply have chosen a KF arrangement that consumes, by far, nearly all our budget. This is the current choice we've made.
sorry if my original message was not clear.

I think what Lance meant was that no one else followed suite.
You even spread it out over 3 people,1st,2nd, and 3rd place. You dun good Friend.

Ummm...correction on one line.
The winner of sportsman got a fully built 2 meter plane, I'm painting it now. Not sure where you heard it faltered, the winner was Marcio Jorge. Time is just an issue with me, I'm super busy and it's getting much worse than I ever imagined.
Also second place got a sheeted kit, and 3rd got a kit.
So, that one hasn't faltered one inch =) As for someone else not doing it elsewhere, not much I can do about that.

The NSRCA is a volunteer group made up of officers, district VPs, and members. Although elected, the officers and VPs are not paid and, like the members, volunteer their time for this hobby. Here's what I get for my $40 and what I didn't get:
What got started but faltered due to lack of volunteers:
Roving Nats location
Updated judging video
New advertisers in KF and on web site
Major Promotions, like D3's sportman winner getting a 2m plane
