That was spectacular to say the least. Dean was cooking the box about wide 
open with the Black Magic (prototype with retracts, very fast) and was just 
pulling into a humpty at the end of the box....darn near wide open.....

Jim was coming down out of a stall turn, about to power up.

BOOOOOOOOOOOMMMM!!!!!!!

That was no glancing blow, that was instant obliteration. Jim's nomex 
Aggressor pretty much exploded into pieces and went straight down (right on 
the poles BTW! in a 25+mph crosswind). Dean's Black Magic turned into 
something...like a fireworks explosion. Millions of tiny sparkling bits, 
drifting with the wind across the road into pattern plane neverland.....

The last time I saw a mid air that explosive was about 5-6 years ago when 
Emory Schroeter and Mike Hare hit spinner to spinner wide open over the 
center pole at GMA.....

Lotsa broken planes, but no broken spirits! BTW somebody actually has a 
picture of the debris cloud still in mid air. There is actually video 
somewhere of the GMA mid air....just can't find the person who has it.
