Been done, over 10 years ago.  Ace did it with their Micropro 8000 radio.  You could edit the radio setup on the computer, and save the file to disk. You could then email the setup file to someone if needed.
   
  There were a LOT of things I liked about that radio.  Too bad it was only 256 resolution!!! (Their answer: "256 is better than most servos.")
