I changed the springs in mine from stock to Radio South spring. It wasn't
nearly as hard as the 9Z (which I sent back in pieces after failing) but not
as easy as the 9C. It helps to have a small hooked devise to get the spring
latched. Just be careful that they are latched. I had 1 pop-off before a
flight (not stock spring).

Subject: [NSRCA-discussion] 14mz questions
Just received my 14MZ and have a few questions.
1. Does the fuse mount DSC receptacle that came with the 9Z series radios
work on the 14MZ ??
2. To charge the TX battery in the TX, does it require a different charger
?? It appears so.
3. Has anyone replaced the stick springs themselves ?? Is it easier or
harder than the 9Z ??
4. The TX battery, is there anything else available commercially or do I
need to buy a spare from Futaba ??
TIA...Ed M.
