140L problem

Early on I used a pure synthetic oil as an after run. It was Castrol Syntec. I ran a fair amount of Marvel Mystery oil through the engine to clean it out and quit using any after run oil after that.
That fixed my problem. You may want to try that. Wide open and run the oil through the intake. On the YS make sure you run it for awhile after you use the MM oil. It can tear up the neoprene stuff in the engine.
Btw, my engine is an OS-140RX not a YS. Many moons ago when I ran the YS, occasionally I used it to clean them out with no apparent damage.

Brian, Of course, things like this never happen in the off season! Always right before or at a contest!!
Jim, Powermaster comes shipped in metal cans, but I do transfer it to a plastic jug.
Adrian, I checked the header, and there is carbon residue inside it. I'll have to see whats going on with the engine I guess.
Hey Bill, I have a case of Cool Power. Might have to use it in a different engine though!.. See you in Springfield!!
Thanks guys for your input!!
Todd

Todd, by any chance is there a contest coming up? ;-)

Has anyone had a problem with an engine carboning plugs. My engine will run
fine on the first flight of the day.
Start the engine the second time, sounds good at first but will load up
while getting ready to take off. Won't clean out. Shut down, restart, runs
up good and then loads up again. Change the plug and everything is good for
two or three flights. Starts acting up again and I find a carboned plug.
I had this problem about a month ago right after cracking open a new can of
fuel. Ordered new fuel (new order came in with same batch# as suspicious
gallon) and had good luck for a couple gallons, but back to "not so
good".... Could fuel possibly be the problem? Engine has run very consistent
until now.
Powermaster DZ 30
OS F plug
Hatori Pipe (new mid season)
NMP header
16X11 APC prop.
Thanks for any suggestions!
Todd
