Jim,

incorrect. Why does there have to be a straight line? The 2/4pt is not 
defined by the pause on the second point. What happens when you do a regular 
split S...do you have to define the 1/2 roll by a pause to show that really 
did a 1/2 roll?

The model performs a 2/4pt roll on a horizontal line and immediately (no 
pause) pulls to complete a 1/2 inside loop. The definition is the same as 
the immelman turns, bunts and split S figure. FAI has these figures also and 
they are always immediate connected elements. You guys are currently doing a 
couple of Immelmans the same way...The loops segment is immediate. A couple 
years ago you had a bunt with 2/4pt out. This is similar.

Remember the wording or name of figure can be misleading....The word 
description with downgrades is the determining regulation on the figure. You 
can call it what ever you like. The term Split S with 2/4pt roll is a 
shorthand for the reality of the figure.
