YS 1.40DZ Questions

Jim,

Thanks for the input...

Regarding the header...It is a 120-140DZ (P/N NMPDZHDR).

I can't find the instruction, but I thought I read it very closely. I didn't
receive any copper washers and the instructions said not to use any (or so I
thought). That using the RTV Silicone rated at 650F would act as a thread
locker and seal.

I just bought this from Central Hobbies in the last couple of months.

Reading past threads, Troy Newman said he used copper washers also with many
flights and no problem...

Did I miss read the instruction and shipped short copper washers?

Where can I get the copper washers at?

Larry

You are in the ballpark, however I use a 16.5x12W on my 140DZ and it turns
81-8300. The needle has a flat spot in the adjustment, with an increase in
needle, (going Leaner),the rpm doesnt change much. Adjust to the upper end
of this flat spot(leaner). It will use less fuel.
There are different headers. If you have one of the first headers, the
header mating flange is milled differently. On this one do not use the
copper washer in the head, but use the 2 big copper washers between the
header and head.
On the later version header you can use the copper washer in the head and
also the 2 big copper washers and the nut will tighten the header to the
head. Still use the sealer like you are doing. The object is to get the
header to seat hard against the side of the head, then it will seal.
Hope this helps.
