Futaba 8UAF Mode 3 Programming Glitch?

Has anyone experienced problems with crossover in channels 2 (elevator)and
3(throttle) when switching the transmitter to mode 3 from mode 2?   The left
stick has throttle and aileron and the right stick rudder and elevator.  The
program settings for throttle cut affects the elevator servo and ATV for
elevator affects throttle.
Am I doing something wrong or should I just plug the servos into the
offsetting places in the reciever and set the transmitter back to mode 2?
