Steve,
It looks like you've gotten some good ideas in amongst the funnin'.  Your 
idea of switching out the pushrods, go carbon fiber, is a good start.  The 
battery idea is a great one, I use that one myself.  I've also gone to an 
aluminum motor mount, but I think you said you have a DB soft mount in it 
now.  The heavy prop washer works well, I personally don't like adding 
weight to my shaft, maybe adds to early bearing failure, I don't know.  The 
only other thing I've done is go with the lightest tail wheel I can find.
That's it I'm out of ideas, sorry I couldn't be of more help.
