My understanding is that it was all cables. You should have seen the cable setup that Leo had in the old Laser for a while to couple out KE pitch!

What a KOOL plane it will be if and when someone else decides he has the stones to fly such an extreme machine. Dean, was it a fly-by-wire machine? Is it true that Nat talked with Leo about such extreme possibilities 20 years ago?
